Run From The Moon
In 2018, Eran and I crossed paths in Brussels during a triple bill show that brought together bands from Belgium, Luxembourg and the Netherlands. From the moment we met, it was clear we shared a deep musical connection and a similar artistic vision. Recognizing this synergy, I invited Eran to join me for a recording session in Brussels. What started as an impromptu collaboration quickly turned into a powerful creative moment, with us recording and filming our first musical intervention.
That session marked the beginning of a lasting friendship and artistic partnership.
Since then, we’ve had the privilege of performing together in countless venues around the world, each performance strengthening the bond between us.Collaborating with Eran brings out a side of me that I don’t often have the opportunity to explore. His intuitive approach to music, combined with his boundless curiosity and willingness to venture into new territory, has inspired my own passion for the delicate balance of structured and improvised composition. Together, we create a sound that feels at once sophisticated and deeply personal, weaving together elements of pop, folk and jazz in a way that feels uniquely ours. There is an unmistakable magic in the way our worlds merge, giving birth to music that resonates with honesty and vulnerability.
Recording at the legendary Heuvellaan Hilversum Studio 2 (former MCO) added an extra layer of depth and meaning to our project. Established in 1931, this studio has long been a cornerstone of Dutch broadcasting and music. Over the decades, it has housed some of the most esteemed ensembles in the world. The venue’s rich history and unparalleled acoustics created the perfect backdrop for our work, adding an atmosphere of reverence and inspiration to the process. We could feel the weight of its legacy, and it profoundly influenced the energy of our performance.
Partnering with Sound Liaison, a label renowned for its high-resolution recording techniques, was a natural fit. Founded by Frans de Rond and Peter Bjørnild, Sound Liaison is dedicated to bridging the gap between musicians, studio engineers and audiophiles, delivering recordings that capture the true essence of a live performance. Their meticulous attention to detail and unwavering commitment to authenticity in sound quality aligned perfectly with our artistic vision. The result is a recording that feels both intimate and expansive, capturing the raw emotion of our collaboration while immersing the listener in the rich acoustics of Studio 2.
This project, a beautiful blend of our creative energies, the storied walls of the studio and the unparalleled craftsmanship of Sound Liaison, has resulted in a sound that is as much about the music as it is about the connection we share. It’s a testament to the power of collaboration, the timelessness of music, and the unspoken bond between artist and listener.
Claire Parsons
Working with Claire unlocks a side of me that doesn’t surface in my other projects. Her unique fusion of lyrical ambience and pop sensibility brings out the folk-inspired singer-songwriter within me. Together, we blend personal storytelling with sophisticated, atmospheric textures - a meeting of jazz and pop that feels deeply autobiographical.
Over the past few years, we’ve explored a wide range of musical adventures. Beyond our duo performances, we’ve played on each other’s records and traveled from intimate living room concerts to grand stages. Each venue, each setting, offers something different - an opportunity to reinvent our sound and discover new depths in our collaboration.
One of the most memorable experiences was recording with Sound Liaison’s (One Mic+) Sessions, a truly unique live recording setup. Knowing that every nuance of our acoustic balance would be captured with stunning clarity added an exhilarating edge to the performance. Listening back, I can vividly recall the emotions I felt while playing. Yet, the rich, detailed sound reveals even more - unexpected textures, hidden layers of our individual voices, and the magic that happens when they intertwine.
Eran Har Even
What immediately drew us to Claire Parsons and Eran Har Even’s music was their boundless curiosity - two young musicians constantly searching and experimenting, yet always maintaining a sense of coherence and accessibility. This became even more remarkable during the recording session when Frans and I realized that what often sounded composed was, in fact, a solo, and what seemed like an improvised solo was actually composed.
Claire and Eran share an intuitive musical connection, seamlessly shifting between the roles of accompanist and soloist with effortless fluidity. They have forged a fresh direction in the singer-songwriter tradition, blending intricate yet deeply melodic lines with the spirit of jazz while incorporating elements of folk, funk, world music, and free-flowing group improvisation - all topped off with a touch of electronic abstraction.
Their music is an exhilarating hybrid, pushing boundaries while remaining deeply melodic and engaging - an inspired meeting of structure and spontaneity.
