ORIGINAL STUDIO MASTERS IN PCM - DSD - FLAC FORMATS

Why 24bit/96kHz and not 24bit/192khz? or 24bit/88kHz or.....?

In the world or High End recording we generally agree that this is the best sounding and for sure the most practical recording format for recording high end audio.
Frans and I have experimented with different formats and found that when using 24bit/96kHz we would easier get the sound we were looking for.

Keith Cleversley from the Play ground Studio conducted multiple listening tests with16bit/44kHZ files ,24bit/44kHz files,24bit/96kHz files and 24bit/196khz files.
He concluded that ''there is a night and day difference between 16bit and 24 bit'' and that when comparing 24bit/44kHz files,24bit/96kHz files and 24bit/196khz files ''the clear loser in sound quality was the 24bit/196khz files.
Bob Stuart from Meridian Audio says that;''the use of sampling rates above 96kHz cannot currently be justified'
the recording Guru Bob Katz believes 96 khz is all that is necessary if you have good converters.

But of course we will stay open minded here at Sound Liaison and keep up and check out any new technology... but above all we will trust our ears!
